I’ll welcome you to our Sea Born Art studio. You’ll be creating your very own lampshade using sea glass and shells gathered from the seashore; we’ll have a snack when we take a break. I’ll also talk to you about how drifted waste affects sea creatures and our environment. You may be surprised by the materials that we have collected from the beach. We call the driftage “gifts from the sea." Our mission is to expand enlightenment using activities such as this one as a means of creating art. When your piece is complete, we’ll illuminate your shade with a tea candle to complete your visit.
I joined Beach Clean over 16 years ago and I was shocked at just how much garbage was washed up on the beach in Okinawa. I was ashamed of my ignorance and I've been committed to the efforts of Beach Clean ever since. However, I also realized it has to be made fun to encourage participation. As a Sea Born art studio instructor, I want to share my passion with you through art.

We call the driftage "gifts from the sea". Our mission is to expand environmental enlightenment activities through the creation of art. We named it "Sea Born Art" because it was born from the sea. We hope that, through our work and activities such as this one, more people will have compassion for the fragile environment of our oceans.
此為社會公益體驗，您參加體驗所支付的費用會全數捐給Japan SeaBornArt Association。
