Labyrinths are a place of peace and healing. They aid in focus, meditation, prayer and stillness. They have been used throughout history across all cultures and belief systems. They usually consist of a path that leads a person walking it on a winding journey to a center point and back out again. They are not mazes. Labyrinths reflect the journey we all take through life; the path may take twists and turns and if we stay on the path, we will arrive at our destination. I will provide some education about labyrinths ( they are not mazes). We will walk a community labyrinth. After the walk (which can take from 20-30 minutes to an hour), we will discuss and process the walk. I will answer questions, provide additional education, clarification and processing, as needed or requested.
The 1st labyrinth I walked, I knew nothing about them. I was a stay-at-home farming mom; whose children were leaving the nest. I finished that walk with a feeling of "yes." Yes to what I did not know but I did trust the process. From there, I studied labyrinths at Chartres Cathedral in France, trained to facilitate and build them with world labyrinth experts. Since the experience, I have built 5 labyrinths and facilitated walks for people seeking to awaken to life itself thru mindfulness, spirituality, prayer, introspection, strengthened faith, silence or stillness. The Greek philosopher Diogenes said, "it is solved by walking." Through the ages, across cultures and people, human beings have tapped into creativity, wisdom, capacity for wonder, well-being, meaning and our ability to connect to what matters by walking.
I will provide a piece of chocolate.
We will most likely walk the Unity Church labyrinth. However, we could do a slightly different version of this walk at the VAMC hospital, if the Unity labyrinth is unavailable at the time requested. The experience will take 1-1.5 hours.
最多10人參加，年齡須滿15歲。 No prior experience needed. Must be able to walk for 1/2 to 3/4 hour or so. Level of strenuousness needed is low.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. For 1.5 hr. guided walks locally, the cost is $35 per person. Option: walk or explore multiple labyrinths in 4-hours at $70 per person for 1-3 people; $60 each for groups of 4 or more. At times, Grace Wood, a labyrinth specialist nearby, may help host.
