We depart from Aarhus (second city of Denmark - so you gotta visit as it's way less touristy) at 9 am and head towards one of Denmarks' 5 national parks called Mols Bjerge (the mountains of Mols) where we will tour the beautiful countryside, seeing monuments that date back to the Stone Age, Vikings & Middle Ages. Along the way we will stop at 3 different food producers (which will vary according to availability) to explore the salt, sweet & liquids typical of the area. The tastings will be varied in style and in taste so there's sure to be something that everyone could like. Lunch is likewise included, so you will not go home hungry! During the day we will have a little time to explore Ebeltoft, one of Denmark's most idyllic & picturesque seaside towns that originates in the 12-hundreds.
I'm the founder of Denmark Food Tours and am a Sommelier (both of wine and of olive oil) with a few decades of experience as a wine tour guide (mainly in Italy). My Danish origin leads me back to Denmark and the flowering culinary consciousness in my home country is inspiring. After having cultivated the interest of food for so long, it's my huge pleasure to show my guests around to some of the best food & drinks producers on unique day trips into the Danish country side, focusing on what is traditionally Danish in terms of flavors and ways of production.
Mols Bjerge is one of Denmark's five National Parks and is beautifully hilly and surrounded by the sea. Its formation is due to the retreat of glaciers during the ice age, which is fully visible today. The area has been inhabited by humans for the last 6 thousand years and bears visible signs thereof. It's one of the most picturesque areas of Denmark and also has a lot of fantastic local food producers (meat, fish, candy, beer, pastries, etc)
