Explore the greater Lisbon area on a full-day trip with stories of local legends, fairytale palaces, history and more. First stop of the day will be to Sintra Mountain where you can appreciate the magnificent views over the Sintra historic center, including the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace. Some locals only view points are on the list. Here we will share some stories, legends and history. Leaving the mountain behind, continue at the historic center where lays Sintra National Palace before exploring shops, try local pastry and pausing for lunch at a traditional local restaurant and not in a tourist trap. After lunch you will be able to visit the Quinta da Regaleira, the unique palace with gardens full of myths, legends and secrets. This place was made for us to get lost. Changing directions to the coastline, Cabo da Roca is the next stop on this tour. The westernmost point of Continental Europe has a stunning view and lays 143 meters above sea level. Peruse the fishing village Cascais, known as the Portuguese Riviera. Enjoy the sights at Guincho beach, Boca do Inferno and Cascais Bay.
Hi I'm Alexandra. More than 20 years ago I came back to Lisbon after living all my childhood in Switzerland. Contacting with other cultures, learning other languages, traveling abroad made me realize that I wanted to become a full time traveller. Living in this beautiful country and region just made that wish easely come true. A deep knowledge about my city, our history, costumes and culture is mandatory to be a great host, local expert or guide. And I am one. In fact I'm all in one. Guide by profession, local expert by passion and host by empathy. In 2013 I dedicated myself 100% to this calling and still take every traveller with me like if it was family or friends visiting.
Ginjinha is a traditional baverage and will be offered to you in a special occasion during the tour (+18 years old).
Sintra is a beautiful town with more to offer than just palaces and castle. And for you not to miss a thing we will show everything to you: Pena Palace and Moorish Castle from different angles and unique perpective; historic center and local costumes with a local; Quinta da Regaleira mythical gardens; Seteais and Monserrate palaces views and sights; Cabo da Roca and Cascais coastline tailored presentation.
The weather in Sintra can be a bit chilly so it is advised a sweater or jacket even in summer days. Some walking is involved so comfortable shoes and clothes are recommended. Big bags or backpacks are not advised.
