This tour is a walking tour, with five planned stops at various breweries in two Richmond neighborhoods: three in Scott's Addition and two The Fan. Be prepared to walk 3.5 miles in total, spread out over several hours. Between each brewery we visit, I will be providing commentary on the beers they brew, the history and awards they have won for their beers, as well as some of the fantastic historical architecture we will pass by on our walks (I am an architectural designer, it's my other passion!) You will have the option to enjoy a beer or flight at each location before moving to the next establishment. The breweries we will stop at will include, in order, Three Notch'd Brewing Company's RVA Collab House, Ardent Craft Ales, and The Veil Brewing Company in Scott's Addition. Following those three, we will make our way south to Garden Grove Brewery & Urban Winery, and then east to our final stop: Cannon & Draw Brewing Company. This event should last approximately 5-6 hours, which will give us time to responsibly consume alcohol as we make our various stops. While this is certainly an experience you may be able to do on your own, I endeavor to enrich the brewery tour for y'all with commentary on each brewery, and the City of Richmond, as a local who is happy to share knowledge of my beautiful city with visitors traveling both domestically and internationally. Cheers y'all!!
Hey y'all! I have been lucky enough to live, work, and play in Richmond for 22 years, and have been involved in craft beer here in RVA as a connoisseur for 6 years. In addition, I have taken continuing education courses at Virginia Commonwealth University on the history and culture of craft beer, and home brew everything from lagers to porters in my spare time.
While each brewery we will be stopping at typically has a food truck on site for folks to grab a bite, I will be providing…
I will be bringing along bottled water for guests to stay hydrated throughout the brewery crawl.
Each brewery we'll visit has it's own architectural vibe and specialties in terms of brews! Three Notch'd focuses on experimental brews at their Richmond outpost. Ardent features an IPA-heavy lineup and seasonal brews with unique flavors, like honey ginger. The Veil is a regional destination for award-winning stouts and IPAs. Garden Grove is the only brewer in the city that also produces wine. And Cannon & Draw focuses on Belgian-style beers.
Experience Richmond's craft beer scene!
