This is a very interactive and creative glassblowing experience for you to experience, learn about and enjoy the techniques of glassblowing (aka "lamp-working") in a personal, one-on-one setting. We are the only glassblowing experience that books 2 people at a time so that you have a truly one-on-one experience with lots of hands-on time on the torch. However, if you have more than 2 people in your party - just ask! Also, if the published time slot does not work for you on the day you want to come just send us a message - we can usually move around a few things in our schedule to accommodate your request. :-) Once you arrive, Jason will first go over the fundamentals of glassblowing and the safety rules. After that, he will explain and demonstrate a few basic moves on the torch, and then it's your turn to make shot glasses! With Jason's hands-on guidance, you will create several shot glasses to take home with you. **Please note: The pieces you create will need to cool in the kiln for approx. one hour after the experience ends - please factor this additional time into your day. You are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy our dock on the lake while you wait (weather permitting), or you can drive to the nearby "Paddle Pub" (3 miles) for a bite to eat. If you are not able to wait for the glass items to anneal in the kiln, we can ship them to you (at an additional charge).
Stephanie & Jason
Jason is a second-generation professional glassblower with 30 years experience. His artistic process began as a young child when he started learning the fundamentals of glassblowing from his parents, both glassblowers. Jason's career started at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas as a demonstration artist glassblower, where he had the opportunity to work aside many world-renowned glassblowers, which gave him a broad perspective of techniques. Our business, Starry Night Glass Art, offers custom made glass memorial keepsakes, hand-crafted with the utmost care and respect in order to preserve the memory of your departed loved one or loyal pet. By taking a small amount of ashes and fusing them within lab-grade quality glass, he creates a lasting and artistic tribute, celebrating the life of your loved one or pet with beauty and grace.
