I first like to get everyone to introduce themselves so that we can feel more comfortable. Then we will make ourselves comfortable on our mats and begin with some breathing exercises. We will then start our yoga flow which will consist of stretching, breathing and holding different yoga poses which you can adjust to suit you. I like to focus on one side of the body, then move onto the other side and then finish off with some full body stretches. I like to keep my classes small so that I can assist anyone who may need help with poses. Our yoga session will last approximately 1 hour. We are located just down the road from the Royal Botanic Gardens which is the perfect place to go for a walk after your yoga session. Not only is it good for your body to keep active but you will also get to see some amazing scenery and beautiful plants from all around the world at these gardens.
I have been practising Yoga almost every day for the past 3 years. I have been taught by many different instructors around Australia and have gained a wide range of knowledge from each one. I love waking up in the morning and starting my day with relaxing sun salutations that wake up my mind and body and prepare myself for the day. Yoga to me is a mix of fitness and meditation. You build not only physical strength but also mental strength. Since starting yoga I have noticed improvements in flexibility, strength and mental wellbeing.
Yoga mats will be provided however feel free to bring your own.
We will enjoy our yoga session on a rooftop in South Melbourne with views of the ocean, city, Royal Botanic Gardens and Albert Park Lake.
This yoga session is great for beginners because its slow paced and not too strenuous. You can easily alter the poses and stretches to suit you. Make sure to wear comfortable, stretchy clothes. I usually recommend wearing no shoes but if you feel more comfortable in shoes I would suggest sneakers
