The scenic mountain town of Kranjska Gora rests high up in the Julian Alps of Slovenia close to the borders of both Italy and Austria. The town, with medieval origins that stretch back to the 14th century, is just 30 minutes away from the town of Bled, a vibrant spot for outdoor adventures. Join me on an action packed day of ski touring from Kranjska Gora and explore the Upper Sava Valley, which reaches heights of 2,000 meters above sea level and is completely covered in sheets of snow. This trip is designed for intermediate skiers who can comfortably handle blue runs and who have a good level of fitness. Get off the beaten path and find fresh tracks to carve your skis down. The trip begins in the morning as we take a cable car before heading off-piste towards Komna, a karst plateau that measures 1,300 meters and rises over Lake Bohinj. This is an excellent spot for ski touring given its blend of thrilling runs and breathtaking views. At the halfway point, I’ll take you to a cool and secluded spot that is ideal for a group picnic. We’ll take a breather, and I’ll introduce you to some delicious local food for you to try. Because after all, exploring a new place isn’t complete without getting a taste of the local flavors. Join me to indulge in all the senses of the Julian Alps. If you are in a group of 3 or more then contact me to hear about an interesting offer.
