You'll start off learning the salsa basics. We'll review the musical structure of salsa, the basic step and some cool new moves to try on the dance floor. After learning, we’ll throw on some music to practice our sexy new dance moves. We'll work up quite the appetite so after the lesson and dancing, we'll dine on our favorite burritos in St. Pete at the local taqueria. Here we’ll talk about what you learned, answer all your questions, and talk about the local Latin dance community in the Bay Area.
I'm a 10-year veteran of the salsa-dancing community and I love to dance! I started my own salsa studio where I taught for a decade and now I teach exclusively through Airbnb - I’ve even given salsa lessons to Airbnb team members in San Francisco! I've given a TEDx talk on salsa dancing (youtu.be/7djdmA8yixs) and I'm a contributing editor at SocialDanceCommunity.com. I've traveled the world to dance and perform, and I look forward to sharing my passion for salsa with you.
We’ll have plenty of chips & salsa to snack on while we learn to salsa! After class, we’ve got you covered on the tasty…
We will first meet for a private salsa class at our historic home in downtown. Our home was the residence of Al Lang, former mayor of St. Petersburg. He is credited with bringing spring training baseball to St. Pete and instituting the famous green benches throughout the city. Don’t be alarmed if you feel the ghost of Babe Ruth hanging out! ;-) After class, we head out to a nearby Taqueria to enjoy some of the best burritos.
