The charming alpine town of Cortina d’Ampezzo sits at the heart of the Dolomite mountains in the northern region of Veneto. Its classic Italian character, chic shops and grand hotels express an upmarket appeal, with the rich and famous wandering the cobbled streets. Its ski infrastructure and culture has developed an Olympic reputation. It hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics, continues to host annual international tournaments, and is set to co-host the 2026 Winter Olympics with Milan. This discovery trip is designed for intermediate skiers who can comfortably handle red runs. Ideally we will ski on your first day here as our goal is to get you all familiarized with the resort, teach you some tips on how to find quality runs, and ultimately maximize your potential for the rest of your holiday. We begin in the morning and take the lift up to a scenic blue run to get into the swing of things. Then we will head to the incredible 8.5-kilometer red piste called Armentarola, also called the Hidden Valley run. Here you’ll carve your skis and look on in amazement at the dramatic towering cliffs and frozen waterfalls that stand ahead. Then I’ll lead you to an excellent spot that offers the perfect setting for a scenic group picnic. Fill up, refuel and capture a collection of cool photos. If you are a group of 3 or more then let me know to hear about an intriguing discount.
