As simple as the title! Who doesn’t love Christmas and that time of the year where the streets and houses are full of life with vibrant lights and colors! I will give you a taste of seasonal food that will bring you back to your childhood memories. Plus we will take you on a tour with the car of the most Christmasy neighborhood in all of NY, Dyker Heights. We are going to start off the night cheering with a glass of wine accompanied with some antipasto of polenta and Taleggio DOP, followed by fresh handmade pasta, main course (could be crown roast pork in the weekend and if the amount of the guests is superior to 8) and of course seasonal dessert like strudel, apple pie or something cinnamon-Y. Then we are going to head out to the tour which is 5-10 min driving from our house, and because it’s going to be cold outside, if the guests amount is superior of 4 (the seats in our car), we are going to call a private taxi company that is going to follow our car to the destination, from there the tour will be entirely by foot, rainy or My husband grew up in this neighborhood and most of the houses are friends houses or people he knew for a long time.
Hi everyone! My name is Michela but you can call me Miky! I moved here to Brooklyn from my home town in Brisighella, Italy, right outside Tuscany, after I graduated from University of Bologna. I live in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, with my husband and son, in my husband's grandfather 100 years old house. My prospective of food is ancient and respecful of each ingredient I manage, as my grandparents taught me. I want to share a different food prospective of what you are used to see in restaurants in NY. In fact, if you want a “feel like home” experience this is the right one for you. My food is hearty, handmade, and each dish will tell you a different story from my country.
