活動內容

Join us for guided meditation and a day in a beautiful, private forest garden with several redwood groves and large stands of coastal oaks and bay laurels trees. Using simple mindfulness, breathing, and somatic techniques, we will guide you to return to the present moment, exploring places of rest in the body as a tool for releasing tension.

We’ll start the day with a mindfulness meditation to become aware of our bodies and senses. Celebrating the equinox or solstice will be our theme for our time together, inviting the renewing cycle of life. In support of this celebration, we’ll offer teachings on the gifts of nature and guided exercises to connect with the surrounding trees and plants and to explore the relationship of our bodies to nature. The outdoors will be our playground for walking in nature as a meditative practice. Through mindfulness practices and reflective contemplation, we will explore finding places of rest and ease in the body as a way to come more directly into the present moment. We'll end the day with a period of movement meditation and dance to integrate and embody our day's experiences. Leave feeling refreshed, calm, and connected.

Nina Horne is a meditation teacher with a twenty-five year practice of meditation and somatic mindfulness experience, and has spent more than 3 months in silent retreat. Trained in a wide range of trauma-informed somatic healing practices, including somatic experiencing, EMDR, reiki, energy work, guided imagery, yoga, massage therapy, shamanic journeying and conscious dance, Nina is known for her deeply grounded presence and heart-based teaching style. Nina's environmental work with the United Nations and other governments saves thousands of lives globally each year . Laura Pustarfi, Ph.D., is a writer, creative, and integral ecologist. She holds a doctorate in Philosophy and Religion, and works at the intersection of philosophy, ecology, and religion. Her dissertation is titled Arboreality: Revisioning Trees in the Western Paradigm.

體驗地點

We'll be in a spacious residential compound with a private forested garden located near Oakland, CA. As the weather and temperature allow, we will move between indoor and outdoor activities. For indoor activities, we gather in a peaceful meditation studio with bamboo floor. Acres of garden include woods, redwood grove with graveled path, patios and landscaped decks, manicured lawns and meadows for sitting. Easy parking; 2 min. from BART.

This exceeded my expectations for a day of meditation and relaxation. I arrived in the beautiful space with the world on my shoulders and left calmer and much more grounded. I would definitely attend again and recommend it to others.

    Location: We will spend the day at a private home located in a natural and secluded park-like setting, with easy access to both the freeway and BART. Only 4 minutes past Oakland, and 2 minutes from BART. Parking on the street is easy and essentially unlimited!
