Embark on a journey with a certified tea artist, discovering the differences between western and Chinese teas, which go far beyond name and taste. Savour the delicate fragrances, imagining yourself as an ancient scholar at leisure in their garden-home. Once guests arrive at the Garden they will have the opportunity to walk around and explore the stunning heritage property, varied plants, and discover our current art exhibition. While here guests are welcome to explore on their own, or join with one of our regular guided tours through the property, at no extra charge. When the ceremony begins, guests will be taken to the location of the private ceremony, either in a private courtyard, room, or pavilion, with their guide Lillian. During the ceremony guests will sample two speciality teas that have been sourced directly from mainland China, and Taiwan, that are not available for purchase in Canada. During the tasting guests will learn the history of tea, Chinese tea culture, as well as the artform behind enjoying the perfect cup of Chinese tea. Over the course of the ceremony guests will have the chance to relax and unwind, absorbing the peace and tranquility of the traditional tea ceremony, all in the stunning setting of the classical Chinese Garden. Once the ceremony is complete guests will leave with their own traditional Chinese tea cup and custom pouch.
I was born and raised in a very traditional Chinese family in Beijing, China where my grandfather was a reputable traditional doctor in Chinese medicine. He taught me the importance of Chinese culture and the value of tea as key to good health. I specialize in Chinese culture, particularly tea tasting and tea arts and have Senior Certificates in both Tea Tasting and Tea Ceremony, and have visited major tea growing regions around the globe, as well as performing for Lululemon, Sunzen Art Gallery, and many other big companies across Canada. In 2015 I was among top 12 in the International Tea-brewing Contest. I am passionate about pure teas and tea art, and since moving to Vancouver I have dedicated myself to tea aesthetics and bringing the purest teas, most traditional tea culture and a healthier lifestyle to North America.
