I will meet you at Borough Market, voted one of the world’s top foodie destinations. We will visit the market and find out about the area’s 2,000 years of history. We will walk through the medieval back streets of Borough and find the real site of Shakespeare’s Global theatre and meet the hero’s and villains of Elizabethan Bankside. Charles Dicken’s Oliver Twist and Little Dorritt walked these streets and we will hear their stories. Our tour finishes by Tate Modern where we will hear about the radical regeneration of this area.
Borough Market is home to a huge mix of food stalls. Southwark Cathedral has 2,000 years of history within its walls. The Clink was one of London’s most infamous prisons.
