Join me in my studio in Prenzlauer Berg, where I also create my artwork, just a 10-minute walk from S Schönhauser Allee . I will teach you about the blotted line monotype technique, which Andy Warhol used at the beginning of his career. After this brief introduction, you will work with ink to create a monoprint from a photo of your choice. You can make blotted line monoprints from your own photos. If you don't have any photos, I will give you one to work with. You will be surprised by the elegance of the blotted line. At the end of the workshop, you’ll know more about this printing process and composition techniques —and you'll have your own blotted line print to take home as an original memory of Berlin.
I am an artist and illustrator working with monotype techniques. Since 2014, I have been working with the blotted line technique for artist books and commissioned works. I love this surprising technique, which requires a lot of spontaneity. You can experiment with ink and be surprised by the results. I give workshops and courses in schools and neighborhood centers—and I look forward to showing it to you, too.
We’ll meet in my studio in Prenzlauer Berg. In the neighborhood you can discover a lot of restaurants, cafés, galleries and little shops
Bring photos on your smartphone (or send them via mail in advance), so I can print them.
