In this unique Cooking Experience, Chef Damian invites you to learn to prepare original heritage specialties, uncovering our meticulous preparation process involving components laboriously handmade from scratch in-house, or procured in limited quantities from a network of traditional makers that he has nurtured lifelong relationships with. Then, celebrating the simple joys of sharing a beautiful, home-cooked meal, gather around the table for an authentic experience cooked with heart and soul. Kin's menu is a retrospective look at the origins of our cuisine, showcasing time-honoured cooking methods, recipes and ingredients that have been left behind. Chef Damian endeavours to marry his love for feeding people with his life’s work of preserving heritage cuisine and knowledge of local ingredients, for the generations to come.
Celebrated for his life’s work of preserving Singapore’s heritage cuisine, Chef Damian D’Silva’s passion for cooking was developed at a young age helping out in his grandparents’ kitchen. Damian has dedicated the past 14 years sharing his passion for Singapore’s distinctive and incredibly colourful culinary identity around the world such as across Asia, America and Europe, and was also a judge on MasterChef Singapore. He is now the Executive Chef at Straits Clan and Head Chef at Kin, where he recreates recipes that have been lost or forgotten through time-honoured methods.
