In Dijon there are several co-op/wine shops that have the same prices and wine that you could get from a vineyard. Vineyard visits this time of year are pretty slim, it's winter! A visitor may not speak French or know what to do. This is where I offer wine shops/co-op wine experiences that "we" could provide small wine delivery(DHL) straight to your home or just have fun. I'm a licensed importer/exporter people always ask how to get wine home? 1. We'll meet at the train station (Dijon GARE) & walk. 2. Start vin chaud(hot) wine tasting thru the Christmas market. 3. Take a snack and wine pairing at(Le Marché-Farmers Market) 4. In the afternoon we'll continue with traditional French cuisine, and wine for lunch at my favorite restaurant (the building is from medieval times) 5. After or before lunch we will attend a booked tasting in a wine cellar dating back to the XVI Century, it's pretty epic & not something you can see everyday. 6. Next (if there's time after lunch) we'll stroll through history to our last wine tasting, that will be at my friends wine shop located on one of the oldest streets in Dijon. This shop dates back to the 4th century, and a great place to unwind after the day. Through our city promenade I'll explain a little history of Burgundy, the wine, and what life was really like living in castles during medieval times. Let's have fun!
I am a Licensed Wine & Beer Importer/Exporter with my own Boutique Wholesale Company called Game of Seasons. I am a Certified Sommelier lll. An American Expat living and working in Burgundy, France (The Cote d'Or). I've lived in France for 6 yrs. I'm a former flight attendant, and started visiting France almost 20 years ago. I love sharing France's architecture, history and centuries of wine and beer making. Speaking French and English helps, not bad for a girl from San Francisco! Being an Airbnb Superhost really got me into recommendations and pursuing adventures on my own and sharing with others. My favorite part of wine life, is to introduce others to taste, smells, sites, and new experiences right underneath their nose.
Wine with traditional French snack at the market!
Wine tastings included. Yea!
Tour the Noel (Christmas) market (vin chaud-mulled wine tasting), then farmers market to wine taste and a treat. Followed with lunch at one of my favorite traditional French restaurants, a landmark from medieval times (think of Lord of the Rings). Then we'll have a Grand Cru wine tasting at a XIV Century cellar. After gourmet ice cream or wine in one of the oldest shops in Dijon, dating back to the days of Charlemagne!
