While visiting Orlando you and your family can travel back in time to the oldest city incorporated by African Americans as told through the eyes of author, folklorist, and anthropologist Zora Neal Hurston. I will be your navigator showing you ten(10) iconic locations of early, present, and future Eatonville. This is a walking tour that will take approximately an hour with a group of four(4).
I’m an Eatonville native and have served as the Neighborhood Coordinator for 2.5 years. During my time as a city employee I recreated the Town’s historic trail into an immersive Dust Tracks on a Road tour with blurbs from author, folklorist, and anthropology Zora Neal Hurston’s book Dust Tracks on a Road . It was important for this to be my first professional project as it is a way to share America’s history and ignite pride in our youth. My knowledge of the past, present, and future makes this an experience you won’t want to miss.
