Starting with an exploration of a 19th century Distillery, we move into historic and gorgeous Corktown. We venture to south Corktown and a visit to a new micro-brewery with brewpub attached! Guests choose a flight or pint of beer! Myself and the educated staff will guide us through their beer selection and rotating guest taps and a guided look behind the scenes of the microbrewery! From here we will head to see some hidden street art and an absolute gem nestled in south Corktown. This eclectic array of graffiti art and murals is perfect for those with an eye for photography! Nestled under a flyover, this hidden gem isn't well known at all even by locals. Next let me show you some of the finest and quaintest row housing stock in all of Toronto, dating back to the mid to late 19th century when workers and brewers inhabited the area! We will then cover more history of the area including the warehouses, factories, distilleries, gas companies and breweries. Explore secret back alleys and laneways not listed on any maps, and learn about secret burial sites underneath modern buildings, roads and concrete! Next it's time for another beer! I will take you to a former gigantic brewery, with an attached pub inside a gorgeous Romanesque Revival building and former hotel dating to the late 19th century. Pint included, and I will guide you through the beer list before we say bye.
I am one of the most respected tour guides in modern Toronto. I own and operate the highest ranked walking and history tour company in Toronto, where I offer free, paid and private walking tours throughout the year. I am a legal resident of three countries (United Kingdom, United States and Canada), and was educated in Political Science at the University of South Florida, with a degree in International Relations. I would consider myself very, very well educated in all things North America, pre-Canadian and pre-U.S history, Canadian history, early Toronto history, Canadian laws and of course present day Toronto. You are in safe hands! I take guiding and hosting very seriously and I absolutely love meeting people from all over the world and showing them all the wonders of Toronto, sharing both my and their experiences along the way!
