You will arrive at my private test kitchen. We will then do brief introductions and I will explain the menu for the evening. The menu will vary and I will take special dietary request upon bookings. We will then learn about the history of soul food as we chop veggies and complete the prep for our meal. We will then learn the southern techniques of making a meal that will include a meat, 2 sides, and a choice between hot water cornbread or dress cast iron cornbread. We will then eat our meal, enjoy a beverage, and have dessert. At the end of the class we will clean up and you will leave with a small recipe book of what we cooked.
I am a graduate of The Art Institute with a BA in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. During the day I design restaurants, nightclubs, and special event menus. I have been apart of James Beard award winning restaurant menu creations. I host a pop up dinner every fall with over 200 people who attend. I have been a personal chef for several high profile athletes and musicians. I have a love of food and especially southern food. I grew up cooking in my Grandmomma’s kitchen and picking fresh veggies in the country since I was 3. I love showing people how to execute true southern soul food.
All food will be provided.
We will have some southern paired beverages
You will be coming to my private test kitchen. Upon arrival you will head up the walkway to the front door. I will be greeting you at the door.
