This tour will begin on the Manhattan end of the Williamsburg Bridge, where we will get set up with bikes and helmets from a local bike shop. I'll give a brief safety lesson, and we'll be on our way! Next, we'll cross over the Williamsburg Bridge, which has amazing views of of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines. (It's also way less crowded than the Brooklyn Bridge!) After a brief stop on the bridge, we'll continue over into Williamsburg, one of Brooklyn's most famous neighborhoods. Once we're off the bridge, we will begin our street art "exhibit", beginning at George B. Post Plaza, where we'll see the renowned "Mona Lisa of Williamsburg". Then we'll ride through the neighboring area and observe the colorful murals that cover the walls of various shops, restaurants, and apartment buildings. Before we go back over the bridge, we'll visit Domino Park, which was recently built right by a now-defunct sugar refinery operated by one of the world's largest companies. Feeling peckish? I have plenty of local food recommendations too! This tour runs for about 2 hours, so plan accordingly. See you soon!
I'm Peter, and I'm an NYC local expert who has a passion for all things NYC! The art scene and history of the most culturally rich city in the world have always fascinated me, even before I went to college to study it! I've been giving tours around NYC since 2016, and I've been loving it ever since. I've been a resident of every single NYC Borough (Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island) so I've had a taste of just about everything on the NYC menu but I'm always searching for more! As a mixed-race New Yorker, I enjoy showing visitors around the city while giving them nuanced cultural context about the areas we explore together. It's always interesting hearing about the experiences of others as they relate to my own. There is nothing I want more than to take your NYC visit to the next level. Message me and let's go!
