Once you arrive at the farm, you will be able to spend time grooming the horses and participate in getting them dressed and ready to go. Once the horses are ready, we will head out for an hour ride on our 400 acre farm. We will cross and walk down several rivers, walk through beautiful open meadows and climb up and down the Blue Ridge foothills. During your ride, we will be giving you instruction on controlling and handling your horse and you will learn skills in order to feel confident in this new adventurous activity. Upon returning home, while enjoying a drink and snack, we will spend time undressing the horses and talking about what it's like to live on a horse farm in Virginia.
I have been working with horses in a variety of capacities for over 35 years and love what I do. My partner and I currently run a trail riding business and own 7 beautiful horses whom we utilize to take people out on memorable horseback rides on our 400 acre horse farm. Living on a horse farm and caring for our horses and other animals is a lifestyle which brings me much gratitude and serenity. I enjoy sharing my expertise about horses and western style horseback riding with our many guests who come to ride with us.

Mechum View Farm is located in Crozet Virginia about 20 minutes outside of Charlottesville. The farm is still a working farm and dates back to the early 1800's. The Stockton Creek and Mechum River meet up on the property which spans 400 acres consisting of mostly untouched Virginia countryside. Along with a large number of horses, the farm has cattle and produces it's own hay.
