There are enormous amounts of superfood growing in the nearby forests of Helsinki Capital Region – wild and free! I welcome you to learn about Finnish wild herbs and vegetables. I take you to visit the beautiful Northern nature of ours for two and a half hours and teach you to identify the most common and delicious wild herbs. In addition, the attendees will learn how to use wild herbs in cooking and get a handout about the common wild herbs in Finland to their e-mail after the workshop. The attendants will also learn different plant stories, their nutritional values, their folklore, mystery and history. A minimum of 15 edible wild herbs are usually covered. In addition to wild herb foraging workshops, I organize wild mushroom and berry workshops from July to October.
I’m an enthusiastic forager, a biologist, an environmental educator and a wild food adviser. I organize foraging workshops and walks about mushrooms, berries and herbs growing in Finnish forests and meadows. I teach wild food identification and preservation, medicinal wild foods, everyman’s rights and sustainable foraging. I have been organizing foraging walks for 7 years. I have also written a book about wild foods. Learn more about foraging in Finland on my web pages www.foraginginfinland.com and www.helsinkiwildfoods.com
