Welcome to Yonder, a creative studio/gallery space run by artists in a quaint little fishing town on Lake Michigan! We are located in the downtown near other art galleries (for inspiration), a winery, dining and craft beer experiences. We invite you to come spend time in the studio with us and get hands on with relief printmaking. After a brief introduction to who we are as artists and the studio space we will give a demonstration on woodcut carving and printmaking techniques. We will introduce you to different papers, methods of cutting, tools and our press. After this you can dive into beginning your own work of art. Yonder is a relaxed storefront studio and we encourage you to get into your own creative headspace, listen to music and/or have good conversations while creating. We will be at hand to direct you as needed.
Don and Erin are a husband and wife team. Don is a printmaker, illustrator, and all-around maker. He has been printmaking for 15 years and teaching it for 10. Erin is associate professor of art at a nearby college. She loves working in many different mediums and oftentimes collaging them together. She is an advocate for bringing art to public spaces and inspiring others in their creative lives.
The experience will take place in Yonder's 19th-century old downtown brick building, but participants will find many art galleries, Lake Michigan, breweries and Wisconsin's oldest winery nearby.
