Chocoholics, this is your dream come true! As a chocolate expert, chocolatier, and fellow chocoholic, I will help you uncover all the secrets that lay behind the chocolate wrapper and beyond. I will welcome you to the workshop with some bubbly (non-alcoholic option included) and then we'll be seated for an interactive tasting. We'll outline the origins of chocolate, including the use of raw materials and ingredients from the source. Then as a group, we will create our very own handmade chocolate. We will also enjoy a tasting selection of 9 handpicked single origin chocolates from award-winning international chocolate makers. I will teach you how to make a delicious chocolate ganache using an original recipe and demonstration. Then it’s time to get messy, as we each create one dozen fresh chocolate truffles by shaping them and dipping them into tempered chocolate & cocoa powder.
I love sharing my passion for chocolate, ever since my humble beginnings as a novice chocolatier in California 10 years ago. After working for a few top chocolate companies in London, I founded my own dream chocolate company: Lady Cacao, in Hackney, East London. Chocolate is a craft, and like all speciality foods such as wine, cheese, and coffee, can be discovered and savoured only by engaging all 5 senses. London is one of the best places for experiencing chocolate because the concept of directly sourced bean-to-bar chocolate is quickly catching on. We will meet and gather outside The Perseverance Pub by the canal bridge at Broadway Market in trendy East London. Then we will head over to my teaching kitchen to intimately enjoy and engage in our chocolate talk, tasting, and workshop, where we will create our beautiful mouthwatering truffles.
