We will start off milking the cow by hand the old-fashioned way. This a visceral experience that is hard to get! Then we will visit each of the groupings of animals, eggs layers, Heritage beef cows, purebred A2A2 milking Jersey, bunnies, meat chickens and sheep, bees, livestock dogs, pigs and discuss why they are important to a sustainable a non-chemical farm culture. Most of these animals are moved constantly with portable electric fencing. This creates a healthy environment for the animals and spreads a natural, not chemical fertility around the farm. The management practices of these animals is what keeps them healthy. Next, we will visit the organic garden, orchard and greenhouse and discuss the abundance and challenges of these endeavors. At the end of the tour we will come inside for an explanation of the many probiotic foods and drinks that give superior health benefits produced here at our farm. You cannot find itheir equal in any store around. As a family we play a game at mealtimes to guess what percentage of the meal was produce by us and our animals. Many times we are able be in the 70-80% range. Every now and then we hit 100%!! I have read hundreds of books and read many magazines and articles and then have put it in action!! I can give guidance for books, videos and courses to look into for a better understanding of this holistic way of life
I have taught in tours, and expos, taught classes and have been sought out to lecture. I have run our non-chemical farm that incorporates animals and organic farming practices. I specialize in local fermented and probiotic foods and drinks. When one manages their farm properly one does not need to use antibiotics and chemicals. I also have a specialty in the area of homeopathy which is a powerful alternative medicine for people, animals and also plants! There are other options to recover your health using real food produced in a wholesome non-chemical way, partnered with homeopathy. My mentors are Weston A Price foundation, Joel Salatin, Sustainable and Permaculture, bio dynamic farm practices. Let me guide you through your sustainable, non chemical health journey.
The tour will take place on our almost 30 acre family farm. We are able to produce for ourselves between 60% to 80% of all that we consume at the highest quality possible. We are reviving the skills that have been lost due to families leaving the farm culture and to industrialization partnered with chemical dependence of plants and animals.
This a mostly out door experience. Please come prepared to be in the weather and be comfortable. Boots are not a bad idea.
