We'll meet up at the Tukupetsi trailhead, then take off for the journey! We'll go past our childhood "swimming hole" and land smack dab in the middle of some of the clearest and most unique petroglyphs, carved by both the Shivwits Band of Paiute Native Americans and early Anasazi Native Americans. Then we'll head on past the "portal" (an old metal silo we used to toss a rock at as boys) and end up at the opening of the canyon where we'll say hello to our "pet" Elephant Rock and ride a frozen wave on Wave Rock. (PS pictures here at sunset are phenomenal, bring a camera.. or new phone!) Wir bieten diese Erfahrung auch auf Deutsch an. Wij bieden deze ervaring ook in het Nederlands aan.
I was born and raised in Santa Clara and have been hiking and exploring the area since I can remember. I've always had a love for the natural surroundings and the history of the area, which has led me to search out and find some of the most fantastic (and hidden) gems here! Now I want to share those local secrets with people from all over who will really appreciate them!
Granola bars and trail mix for one and all!
Good ol' fashioned water.
We'll be in Santa Clara River Reserve, we'll start at the Tukupetsi trailhead, however from there we'll be taking a more "local" route to the petroglyphs. No need to worry about the difficulty, the trail is flat and accommodating for all ages.
