Great for corporate team building, family gatherings or any groups wanting to build cohesion and camaraderie.

We’ll increase our energy flow and state of happiness as we bathe our senses in the style of Shinrin-Yoku. Our guided mindfulness-based walk will take us from a lookout with splendid views of San Francisco Bay through stunning Redwood and Eucalyptus forests and across the wetlands of El Polin springs. Each ecosystem full of life filled with myriad delightful sights and sounds unique to that local.

You'll be guided through invitations to deepen your experience of nature in unique ways, which may be both playful and introspective. We can customize invitations to the needs of your group. As we drop into the beauty and aliveness of the forest, and we'll pause intermittently to share what we are noticing. This can be expressed in silence, words, or movement. Our walk will end with delicious tea made from foraged plants and served in handmade tea cups. A sense of calm and inner peace will be a gift we’ll take with us.

Other Notes:
All activity levels welcome—no hiking experience required. Dress in layers in case of cold, fog, or rain. We'll limit electronic use. Bring water, hiking snacks, a mask and your sense of awe and wonder.
Afterwards, you may want to have a meal at a nearby eatery or enjoy the park and the city on your own.

Feel like your amidst a vast wilderness right in the heart of the city. San Francisco’s unique urban setting boasts landscapes where forested hills meet seaside beaches with rich history, old military installations, and residential areas sprinkled throughout. We'll begin in Presidio Park at the Inspiration Point scenic overlook with iconic views of San Francisco Bay. From here, we’ll walk into the surrounding forests of the Ecology Trail.

COVID precautions: I booked in July 2021 for a group of 3 and a mother and daughter duo booked separately on the same time slot. We were all vaccinated but it was super easy to keep a safe distance and wear masks the entire time to be extra safe. About the experience: Relaxing, meditative walk through nature! Expect around 50% individual and group meditation (sitting or walking) & 50% conversations before/during/after leisurely strolling. It’s a long walk (3.5-4.5hours) at a slow pace with many invitations to reflect and share with the group. The whole time you have a visual feast amongst the redwood and eucalyptus trees, as well as ivy, blackberry bushes, streams, and more. Tips: Traffic in the city was heavy that day so everyone in the time slot arrived late but gave Gregg notice so he was very flexible about the trail route, activities, and timing/schedule to ensure we could still wrap up in time to make later appointments that day. I highly recommend wearing layers of clothes (examples: jacket over a shirt, maybe pants that can roll up), especially if you get either warm or cold easily, since the forested areas are quite cool due to the shade while the trails are completely open with hot sun beating down. Also definitely wear very comfortable shoes with a decent grip for walking on the trail / in the forests since there is a lot of fallen leaves and such underfoot and a few of the trails have somewhat steeper inclines or more gravelly or woody paths. Also consider bringing / using sunscreen, mosquito spray, and hand sanitizer (FYI Gregg brought soap in case of poison/protector oak oils and I think he also had some extra sunscreen on hand). There are many stops & breaks but not really restroom options except at the very beginning and end of the walk. He offered tea and trail mix at the end , but definitely bring food / snacks / water since it’s a long journey.

Gregg is an exceptional, knowledgeable, grounded guide during the forest bathing. This is probably the 5th or 6th walk I've completed with Gregg, and it's a unique experience every time. Gregg is able to retain the details of the walk that allows each of us, as well as a collective, to feel deeply within our bodies, connecting with Earth, every single time. I was long overdue for some nature medicine, and I am glad I can rely on Gregg to help me reconnect back to home. Like any other healing practice, this is something I know I personally will need to stay consistent with if I want to maintain a sense of inner peace and to remain grounded, literally and figuratively. Again, I feel fortunate that I can look forward to Gregg's walks to remind myself of the beauty and healing benefits of nature.

Peaceful, meditative experience in redwood and eucalyptus groves in the middle of the city. Mindful appreciation of the sights, sounds and scents of nature and urban life. Highly recommend.
