Join me for a 3-hr walking tour of the colorful Kampong Glam and Bugis district. Explore the historic streets, admire the conserved shophouses and we will walk through some of the best spots in the area. We will meet at a convenient location i.e. MRT station. We will then make our way on foot to Kampong Glam. We will wander down narrow Arab Street, Bussorah Street, Baghdad, Kandahar and Muscat Streets, learn about neighborhood history and discover the remnants of the indigenous culture here, the Malay and middle-eastern folk traditions and goods. We will spot traditional businesses that have been around for generations, admire the Sultan Mosque and the former Royal Palace. And take a sniff at the spice garden and perhaps perfume stores. We will make stops to enjoy local tea, and snacks such as lemper or onde-onde. During this tour we will also visit the hippest street in town, Haji Lane, a selfie-craze street in Singapore, with it’s bohemian and latin vibe and colourful shop houses and street arts. If you are into street arts Kampong Glam will be perfect for you. We end the tour at Bugis Market, the largest street market in Singapore and you can also see temples near there. Tour is normally conducted in the afternoon as the streets are more lively. Though it can also be conducted in the morning. Tour not normally conducted on Monday as the palace ground is closed
