In his online live Masterclass, Chef Gabriel Kreuther will be preparing a Chilled Cucumber and Mint soup with Alaskan King Crab, showcasing the mastery of culinary skills and techniques that have led him to his inventive and imaginative expression of classic and traditional Alsatian staples! Staples that have helped gain his restaurant many recognitions, such as “Best New Restaurant of the Year” by New York's Village Voice, AAA 5 Diamond Award, 3 Stars from the NY Times, and many more awards.

  • Cucumber and Mint Soup (serves 6):
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped. In the case you can't find a yellow onion, feel free to use any onion.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 garlic cloves, smashed and chopped,
  • 4 large cucumbers, peeled, thinly sliced (you will need 600 grams, 1-1/2 pounds, of sliced cucumbers) preserve 1/3 of a cucumber for garnish
  • 240 milliliters (1 cup) chicken stock, water can be a substitute

Some technical issues in the beginning, Take a Host could have done better in terms of communication that there would be delays. Overall, lovely experience with Gabriel Kreuther! Such a sweet and humble chef. He took great care in showing the steps and open to explaining different variations of garnishes and ingredients. It was lovely!

This was a really fun and educational experience! Chef Kreuther and the organizers made it a memorable experience. I surprised my wife with an amazing soup and I will definitely be making it again. Highly recommend this. We can’t wait to visit the Chef’s restaurant!

I am not a fan of mint cucumber soup. But, Chef Gabriel’s recipe made me rethink about it. My dish came out great and delicious! It looked so luxurious and tasted like a (two-michelin-star) restaurant dish. I really recommend cooking along. I learned through the prep process to finishing the dish.

Fantastic! Such a special experience and a great way to enjoy a cooking class while quarantining. Learning simple cooking tips (how to chop garlic!) from a Michelin chef on a Sunday night? Brilliant! We both really enjoyed the experience and loved the way he taught. Was a lot of fun and the cucumber mint soup was delish!

Chef Gabriel is an amazing and very gracious host that takes his time explaining all the process involved in his recipe. I for one using a lobster instead of King crab, and he took the time walking me through cleaning the lobster. I had a great time and highly recommend it.
