Join me at a hip wine bar in Toronto's cool Dundas West neighbourhood. A great place to explore before or after the experience for local shops, bars, and live music. We'll head to the cellar where I'll introduce the aspects of viticulture that can affect the wine in your glass and the method of tasting used by professional sommeliers. You’ll taste small-batch Ontario wines, showcasing the best grapes growing in the region. As you taste, you'll get to snack on a spread of Canadian cheese + house-cured charcuterie. All the charcuterie is made by Ryan, the passionate owner of the wine bar, using locally-sourced meat. You don’t see that everyday. By the time we're finished you'll have a better idea of how to taste wine, what elements to look for, and a snap-shot of what makes cool-climate winemaking in Ontario so exciting. Afterwards you can hang at Sapori to enjoy more wine and food, or I can suggest some cool places in the area.
