Forbes.com named Forest Bathing Hawaii's walks in the top 5 "incredible once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences that should be on every intrepid traveler's bucket list." A great way to start your vacation and your new year! Past participants have commented on how this experience finally makes them feel relaxed enough to be fully present and here in Hawaii. On the verdant grounds of the Lyon Arboretum, you'll leave behind the stresses of the world and get in touch with the healing powers of Hawaii's forests. As we move slowly and mindfully through less than a mile of easy trail, I'll offer a series of “invitations” to help you reconnect with nature...and with yourself...through your senses. There'll also be opportunities to share what you're noticing (if you'd like) with other participants and to sit in quiet contemplation. "Forest Bathing" (translated from "shinrin yoku," an established public health practice in Japan) is a growing global wellness movement backed by 30 years of scientific research on the physical and psychological benefits of immersing yourself in nature. My family has lived in Mānoa Valley (where I guide) for more than 60 years. This land holds so many memories for me and now I hope to create some special memories for you.
