Starting at Icebergs at Bondi Beach, we’ll stroll to nearby Bronte stopping to hear stories & history and taking in the views: * Aboriginal history of occupation in the area * The coastal natural world and the area’s regeneration * Sydney’s strong beach culture & history * Controversial Gay & Lesbian history * Australia’s LifeSaving culture - your guide is a Bondi lifesaver - a volunteer * Sydney’s crazy real estate obsession, so evident in the East Although this is a public and popular walk, there are so many stories and secret places that even locals miss without some insider knowledge. And end with a coffee or you continue the walk to Coogee with your guiding leaving you with great local tips. Since October 2019, Bondi2Bronte has now become a 3 hr tour due to so many new stories, images and places to stop along the way and a lot more questions to answer! Every tour was going way over the two-hour time limit; just so you can plan your day better and you can end the tour at a lunch spot if you like with Matt giving plenty of recommendations.
Matt is an experienced guide, local historian & curious teacher. He's lived in the East of Sydney for over 20 years and was born and bred in Sydney; a true Sydney-sider! He’s been a tour guide in five languages around Sydney & Australia and has escorted journalists with Tourism Australia, and volunteers his time as a lifesaver & studies the history. He’s also very tall, so you won’t lose him!! "I fall in love with this city most days and although international travel has broadened my horizons, Sydney is the best city to come home to." "From my home in Bronte, I run daily to Bondi Beach and I always see something new, as this coastal path contains some of Sydney's best scenery." I've recently added an extra hour to the walking-tour time because two hours was just not enough time to fit in all the stories over the 2kms of the walk.
* Starting at iconic Icebergs Winter Bathing Club - a great part of Bondi swimming history * Marks’ Park - home to annual Sculpture by the Sea every year in October / November * MacKenzie’s Bay - Sydney's disappearing dog beach * Gorgeous Tamarama beach with its amazing vistas and crazy surf. * Bronte Beach and its relaxed, family atmosphere and park. * Waverley Cemetery - the dead end of the tour
最多10人參加，不限年齡。 Taking part does require minimal walking fitness as there are stairs and sloping hills. The local council has made a new access path to Marks' Park for wheelchairs which I'd be happy to help you access, although the full tour is not yet…
NB some stairs to climb, so not fully accessible. A recent concrete footpath has made wheelchair access possible to Mark's Park if you'd like to visit it on your own. If you require a tour in a language other than English, (Deutsch, Francais, Italiano, Espanol), please enquire and book separately.
