Chinese cuisine is very rich and diverse. It cannot be treated as one entire cuisine as ingredients and styles of cooking vary depending on the geography, climate, and religion. We will journey through Chinatown and taste these regional delicacies together. By the end of the experience, you will be familiar with the flavour characteristic from various parts of China. We will start in the heart of Chinatown and make our way through four food stops all within a block from each other. Each stop represents a specific province in China. If interested, we will also walk through the aisles of the largest Asian supermarket in Chinatown, and have you familiarize with commonly used ingredients in Chinese cooking. If you're into photography, I'll be offering you tips on taking Instagram-worthy food pictures.
I'm the editor-in-chief of two food blogs (Random Cuisine and MTL Food Pics), and now a freelance food writer/photographer for montreall.com where I interview local chefs and create educational guides on ethnic food in Montreal. For the past 5 years, I've hosted food crawls for 36 students for the McGill Fencing Club, and for 100 new graduates on McGill's Orientation Week. In my spare time, I give private food walks for my Instagram followers (@randomcuisine, 9.3K+ followers) to discover food gems in different neighbourhoods of Montreal.
