We’ll begin at The Columns Hotel, the building dates back to the 19th century & as you enter, you'll feel as if you're stepping back in time. Whether we choose to sit inside the historic building or outside on the front porch overlooking St. Charles Ave, we’ll set the tone at this classic New Orleans spot. Next, we’ll hop on the streetcar for a ride down St. Charles Ave. to Hot Tin, the rooftop bar at The Pontchartrain Hotel. The Hot Tin has a Tennessee Williams theme throughout. While sipping our cocktails, we can enjoy an excellent view of the city on their deck. After Hot Tin, we’ll get back on the streetcar & head down to the CBD (just outside of the French Quarter) to the The Sazerac Bar in the Roosevelt Hotel. You’ll have the opportunity to taste the bar’s namesake, considered America’s first cocktail, or any other drink that you fancy while enjoying the old world charm of our final stop. Throughout our bar crawl, we’ll discuss the history of New Orleans & its most famous cocktails while sipping some of those very drinks. Enjoying a view of the historic mansions & live oaks while on the St. Charles Ave. streetcar will be the perfect way to crawl to each bar.
I'm a New Orleans native with a passion for my hometown, it's unique history, beautiful architecture, great food & drink & friendly neighbors! I'm also a licensed tour guide & have been guiding a variety of tours throughout the city since 2011, including culinary history tours, so I'm well versed in the history of New Orleans cuisine & cocktails. I want y'all to get off of Bourbon St. & enjoy delicious drinks at 3 great spaces along St. Charles Ave. with a local!
1 alcoholic beverage at first stop (non-alcoholic alternatives can be provided upon request)
We'll go to 3 unique bars along this bar crawl. The Columns Hotel is a charming historic hotel & bar. The Hot Tin rooftop bar in the Pontchatrain Hotel with an amazing view of downtown New Orleans will be our second stop. Finally, we'll hit The Sazerac Bar inside the Roosevelt Waldorf Astoria Hotel, another location rich in New Orleans history.
