Don't you think that it would be wonderful to make sushi at home? In this course, you will learn how to make dashi or Japanese broth from the scratch. At the time Yumiko showes and explains all Japanese seasons and unique ingredients. Next you will make tamagoyaki or Japanese omelette. And then you make two different popular styles of sushi: nigirizushi and makizushi. You can learn some useful skills as well as sushi history. I bet you enjoy making sushi a lot! You can hold a sushi party at home after you go back home. ( We have vegetarian and vegan friendly menus as a kaiseki cuisine, too. We try to meet your needs as much as we can. Feel free to make your request. ) In the end of this course, you will have a bowl of matcha or powdered green tea with Japanese sweet sitting in a chair. If you have enough time, you can make a bowl of match by yourself :-) Why don’t you try it?!
I was born and brought up in Kyoto city. My grandmother, Kaji was a wonderful cook and created beautiful Japanese food. Luckily she taught me how to cook and present traditional Japanese cooking. I have lived in and visited many countries and made wonderful friends there. I love sharing my passion for cooking and making it easy for you to enjoy Japanese cooking at home. I hold my cooking class at my private kitchen. it is only 5 minutes on foot from The Westin Miyako Hotel Kyoto. Around my house there are a lot of nice places: Heian shurine, Nanzenji temple, philosopher’s path, Ginkakuji ( Silver pavilion) and so on. After the cooking class, I recommend you to visit and enjoy such wonderful places.
