We meet in Shinsekai area, an old neighborhoods of Osaka, walk around the area then head toward the Minami area, Osaka's southern city center, including world-famous "Dotonbori". Osaka is well known as the food capital of Japan, or kitchen of Japan, and you will see why once you get there. There are so many restaurants all over the city, and all kinds! I'll show you not only the variety of foods Osaka can offer but also the history of the area, Japanese tradition and everyday life of local people. You'd be better off if you can take my walking tour at your earliest convenience once you arrive Osaka, since I'll talk a lot about what you can do here as well as restaurant recommendations. Hi there! I'm Masa and I am a nationally licensed tour guide. I just moved back to Japan, where I was born and grew up, after living in USA for 25 years. I'll show you what Osaka has to offer by walking around Shinsekai and Minami area, southern part of Osaka City, where you can find REAL Osaka. As a Japanese but having lived overseas over the last two decades, I am certain I can explain things to you from a unique point of view and also in an insightful manner. I will show you the city from a local's perspective in a way you'd never find on your own.
We will be walking through old neighborhood of Shinsekai and Osaka Minami area including Dotonbori. I'll talk about anything that comes up along the way and give you food suggestions. This tour will be a good introduction to Osaka to familiarize yourself to the area and maximize your stay here in this exciting city, Osaka.
Please be physically fit since this tour involves about 4km (2.5 miles) walking. You may bring your baby on a stroller but please know that we will be walking through some busy/crowded areas.
