I take the guests on a medium-paced walk for 2 hours with an average of 10-15 stops at regular intervals. In these stops, I cover the important landmarks and monuments of the area, talking about their history, cultural significance, and other trivia. I also have lively discussions with locals and conduct visits of architecturally-rich homes, some of which date over 250+ years. We end the Walk with a local snack and a group picture. The walk begins at a community hall building that has been running local programs for poetry, singing, education, and theatre for more than a hundred years. Next we move on to a small shrine where a holy flame is kept burning through the night. We then visit a 250+ years old home and take you on its tour to explain the structure and other significant design and social aspects. I then take you into the old market square which houses the ruins of the old municipal building and the first home that was built with steel taken from a destroyed bridge. The last leg of the Walk is a leisurely stroll through the streets lined with old Hindu and Indo-Portuguese homes on both sides.
Varun , Rujuta & Bhavesh
This Walk is hosted by Rujuta :) Having been born, brought up, and shaped by the city, I've seen it change over the years; yet its heart still beats the same. With an avid interest in the city's history, I've been a witness to this phenomenon and have hence amassed many, many stories about this lovely pocket of the city. My educational background, consisting of all forms of mass communication, psychology, history, languages, and script writing, allows me to lend to this walk a blend of highly entertaining content.
Veg Goan snacks
We begin the Walk at a community hall building that has been running for more than a hundred years. We enter the meandering streets of Comba, donned by typical Hindu homes, boasting of old style architecture, made of laterite stones, clay brick roofs, and a shared common wall with their neighbours. We then visit a 250+ years old home. Then we take you into the old market square which houses the ruins of the old buildings.
The untold mysteries of Comba is a sneak-peak into the rich culture of Goa, and into the lives of people living it. They are a friendly bunch, but we request you to respect their sensitivities.
