The Tour is closed for the winter - we'll open up again in March! I provide a quality e-bike (Ohm, Kalkhoff, Raleigh, Izip), and a spiffy bike helmet. All bikes have both hand brakes and gears, so for safety, all riders MUST be experienced and competent using both. Please agree to wear a helmet! We'll adjust and test the bikes for a few minutes, and then we will set out. Much of our tour will be on paved cycle routes with no cars, some of it in the Emerald Necklace Park designed by Frederick Law Olmstead. We will cycle along both sides of the Charles River, and pass by Boston University and MIT. We will then stop for lunch and ride back through Brookline to Jamaica Plain. There are a few places where we walk the bikes for 2-3 blocks, so guests need to be able to walk a few blocks. The tour lasts about 4-5 hours, depending on how many stops we make and how long we spend at lunch. This tour will allow you to test an electric bike in a low-stress and comparatively safe cycling environment. I hope to see you with the famous "e-bike grin" as you glide along! Regrettably, I cannot accommodate anyone shorter than about 4'10". I can sometimes accommodate different dates and times. New England weather is unpredictable so I cancel the tour if the weather conditions are not safe. You'll receive a full refund.
I am an Airbnb super host and experienced cyclist. I've cycled long distances e.g. from Bordeaux to Barcelona and across Britain several times, and I'm a devoted cycle commuter (and semi-retired academic). I have 12 bikes! I discovered electric bikes ("e-bikes") a few years ago and never looked back. I've lived in Boston for 20 years and I love to show guests my favorite places and amazing bike paths. Each guest will receive a route map of our ride. I want to expose more people to e-bikes - not only are they fun, but I think they are the future of green urban transportation!

We'll meet in Jamaica Plain (a part of Boston) where you'll meet your bike. Then we will head down the bike path along the "Emerald Necklace", a park designed by Olmstead, to Fenway Park and Kenmore Square. We'll ride along the Charles River, then cross over to Cambridge for great views! Then we'll ride back over the river and back to "JP". We will not be cycling in old downtown Boston - see our friends at Urban Adventours for that tour!
Riders MUST have prior cycling experience and for safety reasons, they must be competent using both gears and handbrakes. Please tell me your height when booking. Contact me for info about other possible times and dates.
