The experience starts at the Lion's Head parking area. We walk up the circular path to the start of the head proper. The route grade is "B". The views from the summit of Lions head at 660m is 360 degrees and totally breathtaking. You decide whether you want to take the more adventurous "chains" route or just a B scramble on a well established Path.

Lions Head is most probably the most hiked mountain in the world and the 360 degree views from the top are magnificent. Lions Head is a sandstone massif plonked on top of a mudstone layer which itself is on top of underlying Cape Granite. We can enjoy a bite on top while taking wrap around pictures before descending to the cars once more.
NOTE: It does not have to be 09:00. If another time suits you we can change it. Lions Head is 670 meters high and we climb about 400 m, so a fair level of fitness is essential. There is mild exposure.
