We will take a delightful stroll through the beautiful streets and byways of downtown Lancaster. You will discover a city of today, steeped in the history and traditions of over 250 years of America's colorful and exciting past. We will then visit the oldest settlement in Lancaster County, followed by a trip to one of our 29 iconic covered bridges, a visit to an Amish creamery where you'll get to interact with their animals and choose from more than a dozen homemade ice cream varieties, a stop at a scenic lookout spot for pictures, and a drive-by of the farm where the movie Witness was filmed. We will wrap up with a tour of an Amish farm where you can see their horses and homemade bird houses.
If you are looking for a true "experience" this is the tour for you. You won't see tourists - or tour buses for about 90% of the entire excursion. We visit and experience the real and remote areas of Lancaster County that only locals know, well off the beaten path of a typical Amish tour. Our groups are never larger than 14 people and we provide inside access and information not known to the public through relationships we have with the Amish and Mennonites here in Lancaster. Our guides have Amish relatives, Mennonite roots, and are deeply connected to many people here in the county with a wealth of knowledge and information. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to new cultures among many other gems and informative nuggets we hope you'll get from this experience!
