After meeting and greeting each other, we shall head to a refreshment point for those with a thirst and embark on a 1.5hr city walk with, if desired, beers in hand (no open container issues in Germany!). We will take in many of the main sites including Marienplatz, the famous Hofbrauhaus and the food market, whilst talking about the significance beer has had on the lives of peoples through the ages. Munich's famous beer garden culture will be explained and lots of places for you to explore on your own at a later point will be highlighted. Then to the Beer and Oktoberfest Museum for a beer tasting and fresh baked Breztl (pretzel) followed by a tour through the museum itself, origins and significant developments of the Oktoberfest and refrigeration amongst a number of topics to be discussed, again...with a beer! We will conclude with a food platter (Brotzeit Platter), different cheeses, hams, salamis, pork, sausages and spreads, allowing you to try lots of the food that people take with them to beer gardens. Location subject to availability!

Having first visited Munich 18yrs ago, and lived permanently Munich for 11yrs, I'll be able to help you with ideas and tips on other things to do in and around the area!
