Join my popular workshop and learn how to make delicious sushi pieces and other dishes in a short time—just 2.5 hours, including lunchtime. The sushi platter I'll teach you to make is home-style, which means you'll be able to make it easily in your own home. We will cook sushi rice from scratch using a regular pot, not a rice cooker, and you will learn how to cook perfect rice for sushi with my many tips. We'll make three kinds of sushi: a sushi roll, Inari sushi, and fresh salmon Aburi sushi. Everybody will love to cook Tamagoyaki—a Japanese omelet that we'll use for our sushi roll. For our Salmon Aburi sushi, we'll use a blow torch over salmon sashimi, which will be a highlight of the class. We will also make a home-style seasonal dish, miso soup, and fresh mochi with an unforgettable taste and texture for our dessert. All the recipes will be sent to you after class and I will also have instructions online to help you cook these dishes when you return home.
I've been teaching Japanese cooking to foreign visitors since 2016. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of Japanese food and cooking techniques, and find it exciting to meet new people from all over the world each time. I lived in the US for 10 years and graduated from culinary school in New York City. After working in a French restaurant, I attended graduate school and majored in food studies. When I returned to Japan, I attended traditional Japanese cooking classes and got my license as a sake sommelier. I am more than happy to share all my food experiences with people who love Japanese food.

The kitchen is located fewer than 10 minutes from Yotsuya Station, which is accessible from the JR and the Tokyo Metro Namboku and Marunouchi lines. We'll meet in front of Yotsuya Shinsei Church and then walk to the class. I will send you a map after you've made your booking.
