Hanoi is an over 1000 year-old city, so every street we'll be walking on, every site we'll be seeing, and every dish we'll be tasting is a piece of history. You can easily be lost between thousands of food vendors and don't know where would be the best place to try a certain dish. Most iconic Hanoi vendors don't have good online presence, so Google Maps or Facebook Ratings really don't provide much help. Also, foreigners tend to be charged more for what they shop in Hanoi. That's what we are here for, to help you have the best experience at a fair price. Notice, unlike any other food journeys, you will not dine in luxury restaurants. All you need for an amazing tasting experience are low plastic tools, tiny little tables, and an empty stomach. And of course, besides sharing details of each dish and the history behind them, my experienced co-host will be giving out lots of useful tips or local mobile apps for traveling in Vietnam.

During that time, I had tried and enjoyed foods from different countries and cultures, but Vietnamese foods always hold a special place in my heart. My co-host, Tom who has lived in Hanoi for over 23 years and been an experienced tour guide for almost 3 years all over Vietnam. With our years of knowledge about Hanoi and our special connections with local vendors, we will take you to some of the best hidden local food gems and tell you exclusive stories only a real Hanoian would know.
Foods and Drinks Vietnamese cuisine is really meat-centric, so please let me know in prior if you have any diet restrictions…
At 9:30, we will be gathering at O Quan Chuong (Quan Chuong Gate), one of the most iconic historical sites in Hanoi. From there, we will walk through Dong Xuan market, the largest market in the city, where we can try some of Hanoi's most delicious dishes from the best vendors. We will also have a few drinks, learn interesting facts about those local vendors, and end our tour at Hoan Kiem lake at around 11:30.
