My home kitchen is the start of this Irish dessert experience. We gather around the work space to start the prepping and making of the traditional apple pie and homemade traditional custard. While the pie is baking, we start our adventurous and delicate journey in the subtle art of making the traditional Irish custard! We then learn the basics of our tasty alcohol free traditional Irish coffee. There is a balancing act between the ingredients to keep the beautiful end result. So we hope to build a little confidence before you go home to try it with alcohol if you so wish. This is an experience for all ages, with the warm apple pie in your stomach and a soothing warm drink! The complete non- alcohol Irish coffees can be enjoyed by all, but of course for children of all ages we provide Irish milk hot chocolate, cocoa or tea! With the burning turf fire, and the delightful traditional Irish music for our background, you may even leave dancing a jig or a reel!
Coming from a farming background I remember well how everything on the farm was home produced. From milking the cows after school to baking mince pies at Christmas, I was introduced to cooking from a very early age, and the passion has stayed with me. I have run a successful cafe and cookery school for many years. Being featured in The Bridgestone Guide, New York Times and on various overseas websites brings a steady stream of tourists to my cafe and classes. I am vegetarian and have a strong belief in the value of nutritious healthy eating so I also run vegetarian and vegan cookery classes.

This experience is about learning the subtle art of Irish desserts, and the community fun that is created in a kitchen is often the best part of this experience. This particular experience is devoted to giving you a view of how tradition can be carried forward into our future generations, even though the essential experience is almost as old as the Wild Atlantic way.
