We have combined our love for the environment and our love of carpentry to create a sustainable project where we used recycled and reclaimed local woods to create beautiful items. We want to invite you to learn about spoon-carving while also learning about the local forest ecosystem and why it's so important to preserve it. You'll get to choose the wood you would like, design your own spoon or utensil, and carve and sand it until it's ready for use.
I'm a carpenter and co-founder of a sustainable woodshop in Mindo. I have 10 years of experience building wooden houses and furniture, but specialise in woodturning and finer carpentry. In our woodshop we source reclaimed and recycled wood to work with, in order to highlight the importance of protecting the cloudforest the wood comes from.
We provide freshly brewed Ecuadorian coffee.
We provide everything you need for this workshop, from the wood, to protective gloves and carving tools.
The workshop takes place at our woodshop, an open work area with a lovely garden one block away from the central park of Mindo.
