We'll introduce ourselves, have a look at the recipes and get ready to bake. Together we will bake 3 traditional afternoon tea treats; Victoria sponge filled with fresh cream and homemade jam, mini Dundee cakes and cheese and oatmeal scones. We will discuss and practise different baking techniques to create perfect results each time, hopefully taking your baking skills to the next level! When we've finished baking, we should be feeling very proud of what we made and hungry, so we'll sit down with a cup of tea and try our treats, getting to know each other a bit more and chatting about whatever we like, baking or anything else. There will be plenty of cakes and scones to take home too.
I'm a fully qualified professional chef from Edinburgh, I've travelled and worked abroad, but have been back in Edinburgh for 10 years. I love to showcase the ingredients from Scotland and teach local dishes and bakes from my home production kitchen in a traditional tenement flat in Marchmont. I have found hosting Airbnb experiences truly satisfying, meeting the guests being my favourite part! Cooking and baking then enjoying together is my pleasure. We'll be baking in my home production kitchen in a traditional tenement flat in Marchmont, Edinburgh. We'll take a short visit to the communal back green.
