After a short introduction and ice breaker - you will jump right into being coached in making a daal. You'll get instructions on a screen and as a handout. We will be on hand to help. As soon as the daal is simmering, you will move onto cooking the next two curry dishes. Again instructions will be provided. When this goes onto simmer, groups will be created to get the salad, rice and raita made. This will all come together on a beautifully laid dining table for the final meal for everyone to share. It seems like a lot to make in just over 2 hours!! But we do it at every session because we cut and prepare the food for you to just get on with the actual cooking. in this time you also have ample time to chat to us about spices and the numerous type of lentils that can go into making scrumptious meals.
Spicecooks is a partnership between two unlikely friends, Sukhi and myself - Shammi. Sukhi is 20 years my junior but we've always just clicked and have the best laughs ever. We love Indian vegan food and between us have 25 years of teaching experience. We run the cooking experiences because we enjoy them and get a thrill from others learning the skills and making progress. Every session is planned to provide you with expertise in making at least 3 dishes, Rice and some Indian breads. Sessions are held in modern, fully equipped classrooms. You just need to turn up!
Everyone gets to taste each others cooking around the dining table and enjoy the meal.
