The tour starts in Melville at a trendy local spot for a good coffee. We take an easy walk into the Melville Koppies, an urban nature reserve, for a spectacular view of the city. The next stop is the rooftop of the Ansteys Building in the heart of the original CBD, one of the city’s Art Deco gems. G&Ts will be served on the roof while spotting other Art Deco buildings across this vibrant city. We have lunch in Braamfontein. We will then walk to Constitution Hill, where we will join a full tour of this historic site or explore at your leisure.
I'm an engineer and I am passionate about how a city works - how its culture exists interacts with the built environment. As a young adult I have lived in Jo'burg since 2010 and in the Ansteys building in central CBD, in Braamfontein and now in Westdene - adjacent to the historic Sophiatown. I have many stories to tell about this city, my own and those of its history. This tour will provide views of the city that are not open to the public.
Gin and Tonics will be served on the Ansteys rooftop, including a nonalcoholic alternative.
All transportation is included. Safe parking for vehicles is available at the start of the tour.
