No binoculars? No problem! We've got you covered with 4 pairs of quality binoculars and a high-powered spotting scope to bring those birds up close! We want to help beginners get out and appreciate the bird world! Don't be shy if you've never birded before - that's what we're here for! (All experience levels welcome though!) You'll meet us for a slow meander along Sonoma County's bucolic West County Regional Trail in Sebastopol. There, we'll look and listen for a variety of songbirds, woodpeckers & raptors. Time allowing, we’ll walk 1 mile to a water treatment pond for a chance to see some duck species before birding our way back (a 2-mile roundtrip). We’ll send you home with a checklist of all the birds we observed throughout our walk. If you don’t see a time that fits your schedule, or if you're a group larger than 4, contact us and we’ll try to accommodate you! Common year-round birds we might see: Western Bluebird Woodpeckers Northern Flicker White-breasted Nuthatch Wood Duck Red-tailed/Red-shouldered Hawks Oak Titmouse Chestnut-backed Chickadee Spotted/California Towhees Song Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco Goldfinches Northern Mockingbird American Robin Bewick’s Wren Brown Creeper Bushtit California Scrub-Jay Black Phoebe Anna’s Hummingbird Killdeer California Quail Many other species may be seen depending on season!
Teresa & Miles
Hi! We're Teresa & Miles Tuffli, avid birders in Sonoma County. We absolutely LOVE helping fellow nature-lovers and "bird-curious" folks get outside and learn about the bird world by leading guided bird walks and teaching beginner's birding classes. While working desk jobs for many years, we yearned to be outdoors exploring our natural world every day. We're so grateful that sharing our love of birds has allowed us to make that transition. We have also become passionate about contributing to community environmental efforts, and now volunteer with a variety of local nonprofits: LandPaths, Marin Audubon Society, Jenner Hawkwatch, Petaluma Wetlands Alliance, Stewards of the Coast & Redwoods, and Point Blue Conservation Science. You can learn more about us and keep an eye on our birding adventures at our blog - imbirdingrightnow.com
We'll have 4 extra pairs of binoculars to share with your group, as well as a high-powered spotting scope and a bird field…
You’ll meet us at the West County Regional Trail parking lot off Ross Station Road in Sebastopol. We’ll take a slow walk off the beaten path on this unassuming but charming farm trail in bucolic West Sonoma County. This paved, flat trail traverses vineyards, oaks, orchards, and peaceful countryside. Please note: Although the entire trail is paved, during the rainy months there may be some slightly muddy sections.
最多4人參加，不限年齡。 Guests should be comfortable with dogs, as this is a public walking/biking trail and leashed dogs are common.
Binoculars! (note: we'll have four extra pairs on hand for your group, if needed)
Don't be shy if you've never birded before - that's what we're here for! We want to inspire folks to get out and appreciate the bird world! PLEASE NOTE: There are no restrooms at this location.
